Winona Ryder swears there's a 'Heathers' sequel
Before there was "Mean Girls" there was "Heathers" and now Winona Ryder, the star of the 1988 cult classic, says that there's another chapter of the story to tell."Whatever you hear, there is a sequel in the works. I swear to God," she tells Us Weekly. "I've been wanting to do a sequel forever."
She also shares that co-star Christian Slater -- whose character blew himself up in the original -- has agreed to return as "a kind of Obi-Wan character."
"For some reason the writer, Dan Waters, and director Michale Lehman don't want to talk about it," Ryder says.
Maybe because Waters last collaboration with the actress, 2007's "Sex and Death 101" was a misogynistic disaster?

I do remember watching Heathers and it was great but a sequel, I don't know, it's been so long and I'm thinking disaster as in like Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct II.
1998? I think it came out about ten years earlier than you remember...
OMIGAWD what a horrible picture of her!
Fez, you misread the article does says 1988....
IMO, it's far too late to do the sequel. The movie came out in the late 80's and although I loved the original and it was a cult cl***ic, I just don't think too many people would care about it nowadays. Plus I would hope that the characters wouldn't still be their same witchy selfs (not to mention that the actress who played the witch, blonde Heather died years ago - ironically of a brain tumor ... remember her line "Did you have a brain tumor for breakfast?").
whoa ms. ryder, smoke much?
