William Shatner can't perform the "live long and prosper" gesture, but that didn't stop him from using his hands to speak volumes.

The former "Star Trek" captain stopped by the "Tonight Show" Wednesday night, and while relating a story, revealed that his fingers were incapable of executing the Vulcan gesture of goodwill.

Naturally, host Conan O'Brien had to rib him about it, and in the final 30 seconds of the interview, Shatner demonstrates that he's still dextrous enough to flip his host the bird.

Check out the interview:

What do you think? How about that train story, eh?

maybe he was flipping off the other trash on cbs.

The old boring shows on CBS, sure, they are very bad and poor written. Only good thing on CBS is Letterman. Love how he told that TRASH whats up, sent her packing home crying.

Conan is soooooo annoying. for god's sake how the he77 did this guy get this job???????? he's ruining this legendary show. i think William Shatner was speaking for us all....

Shatner is a self-absorbed, over-fed, egomaniac that is best placed on Boston Legal, where he can be his true self. He lacks style.... and manners.

He is cool.

Funny segment

It was all in good fun, Shatner gave Conan the finger after the Vulcan salute, LOL.
