VIDEO: Shawn Johnson 'dead' in fake news story
TwitterGymnast Shawn Johnson is very much alive, despite an obviously false report of her being euthanized for breaking her leg.
The Onion News Network, known for their spoofs on real news, reports that the gymnast and "Dancing With the Stars" champ had to be put down after suffering a leg injury, much like how a racehorse would be euthanized if it became lame.
Actors also portray Johnson's parents, who supposedly made the difficult decision about their daughter. Check out the video:

Apparently, Johnson's friends and family aren't terribly amused since there's no comment from the Johnson camp, but the video has gone viral and is getting searched on Google and YouTube.

That's absolutely stupid. Shame on the Onion for this rotten, disrespectful "fake news report." Whoever came up with this idea should be fired. And Shawn should sue.

i normally don't get satire, which means i rarely get the onion. but this was butt arse funny, and i like the little midge.
