VIDEO: 'Battlestar Galactica: The Plan' sneak peek
One of the central conceits of the recent "Battlestar Galactica" -- mentioned even in the show's opening crawl -- is that the Cylons had a plan.
Through the series, though, that plan seemed to be "kill all humans." That's admirable in its simplicity, but to us it seems more like a to-do list item than a plan.
Presumably, the television movie "Battlestar Galactica: The Plan" will shed light on the Cylons' more detailed plan when it airs in November. Still, we're wondering two things. First, will we learn why the plan never seemed to appear during the series? Second, now that the show has ended, will fans tune in to see glimpses at a story when they already know how it ends?
In this clip, it looks like Brother Cavil (biorganic Cylon No. 1, played so well by Dean Stockwell) knew all along who the Final Five were. That just brings up more questions we're not prepared to answer. See for yourself:

I can't watch the preview because I'm at work, but we already knew that Cavil knew all along who the Final Five were. That's why he programmed the others to never speak of them. He was the one that ditched the Five into various places on Caprica...apparently at different times...in order to punish them.
Anyway, I'm thrilled to see anything related to BSG. I'll definitely watch it.
I also really want to learn more about the Cylons' plan too. I always ***umed that they had originally planned to stay on Caprica and reproduce using the captive humans. But when they couldn't produce and they knew that the humans would eventually come back to kill them, their plan became to wipe the humans all out. And when Caprica 6 and Boomer came along, they then changed the plan again into trying to start a truce.
It should have been "And they have several plans."
I'll be ignoring it. Let it go. Battlestar ended successfully. All these little extras have a high chance of failing and leaving a bad taste like shows that stayed too long.
Anything with the brilliant Dean Stockwell as "Brother Cavil" is awesome. No one has ever played two characters in the same scene as smooth as in Season Two when he was in the brig with himself. It is brilliance in acting and direction.
Yeah, Dean Stockwell is great. Yeah, that scene you refer to with him in the brig was incredibly good and convincing. He's an underrated actor who really hit a homerun with this character on BSG.
More cashing in while the cashing is good, methinks.
That, and perhaps a last ditch but likely lame effort to fill the gaping holes in a plot whose Swiss cheesiness is already legendary.
Dean Stockwell is a fine established actor when he's casted in the right roles. I think Sci-Fi needs to bring Quantum Leap back to at least have a tv movie. We need to have a better closure to Quantum Leap instead of the way it orginally ended in 1993. In order for that to happen Dean Stockwell and Scott Bakula both need to commit to the project. Bring back Quantum Leap!
still hate what they did to apollo and starbuck so NO! not going to watch!
Yes, I'll be watching "The Plan" because I still need my BSG fix. I agree with those who have said Dean Stockwell is a great actor, especially in his portrayal as Cavil. I also whole-heartedly agree that someone, especially SciFi (or SyFy, if you will) should bring back "Quantum Leap" for a final tv movie.
