The 'Real Housewives of New Jersey': Court papers confirm Danielle Staub's criminal past

Maybe you should get all the facts before you decide, as Danielle's criminal past is apparently much worse than she's admitted.
Yesterday the smokinggun.com posted federal court records which seem to confirm that Danielle -- formerly Beverly Ann Merrill -- was deeply involved in the kidnapping she was arrested for after a $24,000 drug deal went bad.
According to the documents, Danielle -- aka Beverly Merrill, but going by the alias "Angela Minelli" -- was a courier for a man named Daniel Aguilar who sold cocaine for a Colombian drug family. She was delivering a kilo of coke to a customer when she was jumped at gunpoint. She and Aguilar then kidnapped the customer, whom they held responsible for the incident, and tried to extort money from his father. Danielle was arrested and brought up on charges when the police intervened.
The charges against her were eventually dropped to five years of probation after she agreed to rat out Aguilar (whom she supposedly met while working for an escort service, by the way). Aguilar was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
So, yeah...
I don't know, I still feel bad for this woman.
Danielle is, very simply, a lost, delusional soul who acts like a maniac and, at 46, continues to have no idea...

she is nuts. PERIOD. and the other NJ hw's aren't much better. this show was the all-time low of the series.
Yes, the woman has issues and clearly needs counseling. And, no, I don't condone kidnapping, even if it was of some low-life s*** who was later sent to federal prison for several years on federal felony drug charges (I am referring to the kidnapping victim, look up his criminal records), and who apparently arranged to have Danielle (then Beverly) jumped at gunpoint.
That being said, people make mistakes, and after 24 years; perhaps it's time to give her a second chance. Yes, there are certain crimes which are unforgivable, like child molestation. Also, I think the person needs to be remorseful for what they have done. In Danielle's case, I can't say her crime (whatever her involvement may or may not have been) was unforgivable. Also, she does seem to regret it, and she has stayed out of trouble with the law for over two decades. Yes, we all know she is unbalanced, but she doesn't seem like an evil person. Also, her life as a sexually abused child and a battered wife (her ex-husband has admitted to regularly beating her, so at least that much is true) really did sound horrific. I'm not arguing that her abuse gave her license to commit a crime, nor do I think should not have been held accountable for her actions. However, I do believe her situation as an abused person for a good portion of her life puts her behavior in context and shows she was very emotionally traumatized. There is a reason in the criminal justice system mitigating factors are considered, not to determine guilt, but rather to determine how harshly we should punish someone. Similarly, I think the same principles apply to how we should judge someone for the past. Yes, hold her accountable, but I think she's moved on, and it's water-under-the-bridge. I'm not saying I want to run out and be her best friend, but I do think she deserves a little slack--there are certainly far worse people in the world.
Who cares. The real housewives of NJ are a bunch of losers and certainly not a cross cut of NJ. I came from Nj, and I could tell they looked doped up,legal or otherwise.
It seem that Danielle, may have had a BAD past, BUT let
the past BE the past. Everyone has the right to undo
their mistakes. She is now the mom of two darling girlsand I believe the by her not keeping anything from them is her way of the girls from not being hurt from any future "Suprises". You know the truth always comes out. I felt that everyone Is making her the batd guy, But relook at All the segments with her involved and your have got to truly see that SHE along with Jacquline are truely the ONLY

OOPS, sorry about my spelling, also my keyboard is acting up. I really don't mean to sound badly towards Caroline, but she always has to speak for Dina and Jacquline, I have in the past found myself doing the same, But now I see how controlling it appears and I do everything in my power to avoid that behavior. Dina on the finale showed some kindness and who really cares where she lived in the past also what she did. She also appears to be a loving and kind mom.The only problem that I see is for Caroline to be more respectful and loving as she calls herself. She does want total control of the family and expresses that alot, but speakes out of two sides of her mouth I Wonder WHY is she not open to new family friendships. She states that she doesn't accept anyone new. I am also of Italian heritage and many of my friend are, this is a strange behavior, one that I have not witnessed before. You know I find it quite funny that she brings up the mafia thing. I grew up watching the untouchables and some of her behavior is mocking of that of the "Godfather" movie. Not trusting anyone, because they could not be trusted. I actually have thought to email with Danielle, I feel that she is truely a person with a big heart, one that exhibits the need to have close friendships, she states
how badly her family was. Didn't anyone else notice her eyes well up when Caroline and Dina were speaking about her father in law,and him being missing, and dying. This to me doesn't make me see a bad person, as Caroline says. I feel that Teresa, needs to look up the work cl***y (she states this of herself). I am the wife of a physician and have NEVER, seen the likes of her example of cl***y, her english diction and usage of the english language if very dissecting of any proper use that I have heard. It is a shame that ONLY SHE feels that the spoiling (shopping) for her girls giving them everything that they whine or beg for Will leave them as empty human beings. I myself have experiencied this with one of my children and THANK-GOD !! I came to my senses.It really took tough love and quite a bit of time for my child to come down from, the (drug like high)that accompanys the feeling of entitlement that DOES go hand in hand with the spoiling of children. Teresa, with all that $$, why don't you instead give the girls french,italian,and other language skills along with private tutors to help make then Strong-Smart women that could be leaders and successful italian women.
You have got to see that with the pitiful change in the Worlds finiancial situation nothing is guaranteed,from your husbands weath at this time that your lifestyle is guaranteed for the girls. I know that you really do love the girls, so that being said,prepare for their happiness. And congrats wtih the arrival of your new addion to your family. The family need a re-construction job for it. There is no need for people to be viscious and write terrible messages.The money that the family currently has does appear have placed an unrealistic, image of what truely IS happines and of what IS important in life. I pray that the family has much healing. Jauquline, you appear to be the most grounded family member, with a truely great relationship with your spouse. Please do not change your sweet ways, you seem to be a wonderful person, one that has shown great courage, keeping a friendship with Danielle. She truely appears to want to remain close friends with you. She stated ;on the show that she didn't want to come between you and your family, rather expressed to become part of the family's love, she thought that they has. The family's bickering has not apppeared to emgulf you as of the last taping. Your husband appears to be very supporting of your decisions. God bless your,the baby and the rest of your immediate family. As fa as Danielle goes, everyone deserves a second chance. She had a horrific start in life, she is a good mom, and if given a chance along with a good friend as you she can overcome the Past stuff, and go on to happiness. Be strong and please do not let any of the family members bully you into making the choice of the friend OR the family. Your family is your husband and children.Good Luck to you all. how do you know if she has stayed out of trouble for two decades?! she has so many alternate names its ridiculous. The crimes she committed were horrendous and really wasnt that long ago!! After seeing her on this show and how abrasive she is, i believe that she probably orchestrated the entire kidnap/extortion plot, it was her threatening phone calls too and the amount of drugs she was dealing and doing, this is a hardened criminal who needed to do fifteen years in prison as well, not let off to be a snitch, not for this crime no way, maybe if she had only been caught for using drugs and prostitution but not the stuff she plead guilty to. She is a dangerous woman! It is also do***ented that she is a pathological liar, so who knows if that child molestation "story" was made up or not to get viewer sympathy for such a criminal history and she is still threatening people. She seemed to be advertising for a man to come save her and her daughters over and over, She doesnt deserve to be living in such a nice house around nice neighbors she is a danger to society.
why would you feel bad for this woman?! She deserved to do fifteen years too. Her involvement was just as prominent, if not more, as the Aguilar guy who got the fifteen years. Since when do snitches do reality shows, btw? isnt she supposed to be in hiding?!
