Olive Garden yanks Letterman ads

David Letterman is out of the Olive Garden family.
The "When you're here, you're family" restaurant chain has pulled its advertising that was scheduled to air this year during "The Late Show," reports Politico, because it's not happy with how Letterman acted regarding his jokes about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's daughter.
"We apologize that Mr. Letterman's mistake, which was not consistent with our standards and values, left you with a bad impression of Olive Garden," Sherri Bruen, the company's guest relations manager, writes in an email to a Letterman critic.
Despite Palin's accepting the talk show host's apology for his inappropriate comments, Conservative radio host John Ziegler has been spearheading a campaign to get Letterman fired. A small protest was held Tuesday outside of the "Late Show" studios.
Ziegler has also compiled a list of the show's advertisers, among them Olive Garden, on his website, FireDavidLetterman.com.

Good for Ziegler and good for Olive Garden!
Holy crap, have people gone nuts. Let it go for the love of god. He's apologized twice already, enough is enough. Ziegler should pay attention to more important things than this.
I will not eat at Olive Garden again. I support Letterman and suggest all those right wingers such as Palin, Ziegler and the Republican Party in general get a gripe..Talk about "morals" and such get over it..the Republican Party claims to be holier than thou but they sleep around eg Palin's daughter now an unwed mother. My Family will no longer patronize any of your restaurant...your decision to remove your ads from David Letterman' show is deeply disappoints....rather than allowing your prospective customers to be their own judge of morality you have chosen to pander to future political favors of a wanna be Madame Joe McCarthy...you will understand if the thousands of family's who's teenage daughters did not have premarital sex & get pregnant and have to drop out of high school will prefer to take there moral cues from a higher authority than a disgruntled and failed political candidate laying the ground work for her deluded future aspirations of fame and power....we will miss your restaurant...its funny your business had nothing to say about the matter so many months ago until
Olive Garden can kiss my butt, and NYC's butt as well. The restaurant in Times Square has been a joke since it opened, attracting only scared tourists in search of bad McItalian food before they go see Mamma Mia.
How about we boycott all the Olive Gardens in response? They are almost as big a joke as Palin herself. What utter bull.

Until businesses and Americans begin standing up to the KOOKS like Palin and Ziegler who are doing NOTHING but using something stupid to gain headlines, then politically-correct crap will just be out of hand.
It's time that their little ploys BACKFIRE on THEM. In this case, EVERYONE: PLEASE STOP EATING AT OLIVE GARDEN. And write them a letter, letting them know exactly why.

Olive Garden is already caving! They just released a statement saying that they did NOT pull future ads, and that reports have been "erroneous".
It took a matter of MINUTES for them to find out what most people think about them and their idiotic stance on this non-issue that is being milked for free press by opportunistic right-wing idiots like Palin and Zeigler. Take that!
