Rolandkickinger_290 When you've got a ringer, why not run with it?

That's the thinking at Lionsgate and Nu Image/Millennium, apparently. The companies, having chosen Marcus Nispel to direct their "Conan the Barbarian" remake, are looking at Roland Kickinger for the title role, according to The Hollywood Reporter's Risky Biz Blog.

Austrian bodybuilder (sound familiar?) Kickinger looks like the previous Conan: He actually played Arnold Schwarzenegger, star of "Conan the Barbarian," in the 2005 telepic "See Arnold Run." He also played the T-800 in "Terminator Salvation," referring to Arnold's own cybernetic designation earlier in the series.

We desperately want to find a connection pertaining to Kickinger's long run on "Son of the Beach," but nothing comes to mind.

Filming on the new "Conan" is scheduled for later this year, with a projected 2010 release.

UGLY!

Whats wrong with his face??? Heheeeee!

DNT KNOW??:/

Wonder what the face looks like in Hi-Def?

Wasn't he in Son of the Beach as the dopey musclehead (apparently he was typecast even back then)?

Hope his face was covered in that movie. This guy is WeHo tore up from the floor up!

Will this interfere with him hosting the Tonight Show?

Of course: Anyone can see he looks exactly like Arnold.

So sad, this guy is even more guylier than Arnold!

Aside from having the right look for the character, Roland Kickinger is actually a good actor, more so than a photo of him in a typical bodybuilder pose would suggest. I hope he gets the part because I honestly think he's earned a leading role like this.
