The "Goya's Ghosts" star has signed on for "Black Swan," Darren Aronofsky's supernatural ballet story, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The story will follow a New York City ballerina (Portman) whose main rival may be -- cue musical sting here -- a ghost. No word on when production will begin.

The project was fast-tracked after the success of Aronofsky's 2008 movie "The Wrestler."

Portman will co-star later this year in "Brothers," a drama about one man's struggles after his brother goes missing in Afghanistan.
