'Lost' star lands Lucifer role on 'Supernatural'
The devil has a face... and it's one many TV fans will recognize.
The CW confirms that, as EW.com first reported earlier today, Mark Pellegrino -- a former "Dexter" baddie, as well as "Lost"'s Jacob -- is joining "Supernatural" to play the pivotal role of Lucifer.
No word yet on how this casting news will impact his part on
"Lost," but because Lucifier is just a recurring character, he could certainly pop up on both
shows.
Are you excited about MP joining "Supernatural"?
My "Supernatural" expert, Marisa Roffman, has her own take: Pellegrino's proven in the past that he can play bad ass, but his
stint on "Lost"-- and even to an extent on "Dexter" -- has shown that even
when you hate him, you still kind of feel bad for the dude. In other
words, the perfect sympathetic devil.
Thoughts?

I haven't seen him on LOST, but have seen him on DEXTER. I can see why SUPERNATURAL has hired him for the role of Lucifer. Besides, when it comes to casting male characters, Supernatural has not failed me yet - they've always done a great job with it and I see no reason to think they'd mess it up now.
He was awesome on Lost. I can't wait for him to be on Supernatural
Well, to be fair, Jacob is dead on Lost. If anything, he'll likely appear more on Supernatural than Lost.
I thinks it's perfect casting but i'm worried the character might come off a little too similar to Jacob. From the way I took what they were looking for in Lucifer he could easily come off very much like Jacob.
Oh, and all of you "Gale Harold" serial posters, your little ploy backfired, as usual. When will you learn that networks and casting directors DO NOT LIKE to be told how to do their jobs? So you cut your own throats, girls. Ha. ha.
One of the dumbest tropes in pop culture--thank you, Jagger and Richards--is that of the "sympathetic devil."
Do you have sympathy for Hitler? Stalin? Mao? You do? Really? Of course you don't?
So why would you feel any sympathy for something far worse?
...not even for a second have I ever entertained the idea that casting directors pay attention or take into account commenter's sugestions...you might have a hard time believing this, Silver, but some of us comment and post just to have fun...I look forward to watching Pellegrino on the role; he is an excellent choice
Gale Harrold was a good idea but Pellegrino is a good choice too.
They are the same type of actors : good news for Supernatural.
Why would someone hate him on Lost? He's God like.
Think It Through, your argument has so many holes that i wouldn't even know where to begin. i'll just start by saying it depends on how you view God v. the Devil in your system of thought/existence. are they opposite? are they exclusive? or does the Devil somehow fall under God?
this is getting way outside the realm of this board, but i couldn't resist throwing out this food for thought.
