Jewels go missing from Lindsay Lohan photo shoot
Valuable jewelry from a magazine photo shoot in London has gone missing, and police there would like to ask the shoot's subject -- Lindsay Lohan -- a few questions.
The 22-year-old "I Know Who Killed Me" star isn't exactly a suspect, though. Scotland Yard is investigating the theft of a diamond necklace and earrings worth about $400,000 from the site of the photo shoot for British Elle. Lohan wore them during the shoot, and they were reported missing on June 8, two days after she was photographed.
"Everyone from the shoot is being questioned," Lohan's spokesperson tells People. "Hair, makeup, stylists ... even photographers. Lindsay hopes they find the jewels. She is happy to cooperate."
Lohan knows from missing jewelry in the U.K. She reported the theft of a Birkin bag containing some $1 million in jewelry at London's Heathrow Airport in September 2006 -- only to find the missing bag and baubles a couple hours later.
A spokeswoman for Elle says the mag doesn't think Lohan has anything to do with the theft. "I can confirm on behalf of Elle magazine, that items of jewelry went missing from an Elle photo shoot ... and the matter is now being investigated by the police," the spokeswoman says. "Elle has no reason to believe that Lindsay Lohan was in any way responsible and has no further comment to make."
