Janet Jackson made a surprise appearance at Sunday night's 2009 BET Awards that were revamped at the last minute to pay tribute to the late Michael Jackson.
Host Jamie Foxx escorted her on stage, and she told the audience and viewers, "To you, Michael was an icon. To us, Michael is family."

The Jacksons' patriarch Joe was also seen earlier in the program in the audience.

BET award is the honour of the MJ's memory
I saw michael in my dream wearing a white hat and white jacket. He is one of the greatest performers of all time, so talented and full of kindness. His legend lives on forever.
