Jack Nicholson may join James L. Brooks' latest

Is Jack Nicholson as good as James L. Brooks can get?

Nicholson, who starred in Brooks' "As Good As It Gets," may help the director out of a mess, according to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.

Seems Brooks was counting on Bill Murray to play Paul Rudd's patriarch in an upcoming untitled comedy, but the actor fell through. With just weeks until shooting begins, Nicholson may pick up the ball. Stay tuned for more.

Rudd, by the way, will be playing a normal guy fighting with a sports star played by Owen Wilson for the affections of Reese Witherspoon. We can't think of a better pop than Jack to provide advice on wooing the ladies.
