Twitter'Footloose' adds 'Dancing with the Stars' pro Julianne Hough
Less than a month after trying out for the part, Julianne Hough of "Dancing with the Stars" has danced away with the female lead for the "Footloose" remake.
Hough will join "Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford in the film, Variety announced today.
The 1984 original followed city-boy Ren (Kevin Bacon), who is transplanted to a town where dancing is forbidden. Sure enough, Ren wins the heart of preacher's daughter Ariel (Lori Singer), and the town learns to move its collective feet. Crawford and Hough will take the Ren and Ariel roles.
This would be Hough's first large role outside reality television. She beat out other, more experienced actresses like "Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere.

Will make sure not to see it, she is ugly and annoying, too bad it wasnt miley, she prob turned this box office bomb down.
well if it had been miley i definitely would not have seen it. not sure if julianne can pull it off. don't really like the idea of a remake. have no big clue who crawford is other than he dated carrie underwood. but with julianne i'll at least tivo it when it gets to the premium cable channels.
This is probably going to be nothing more than a carbon copy of high school musical since Kenny Ortega's directing. Can Julianne Hough even act?

Miley is too young for the part.
Julianne is so multi-talented, she can dance, sing, act n is gorgeous.
She's already played that part b4 in a smaller scale of course.
Julianne is way too trashy for the part. she is a bad singer and things she is all that, showing off that she has a BF, total trash. This movie will suck with Zac and Miley out.
