Fate of Patrick Swayze's 'The Beast' undecided

Patrickswayze_thebeast_290 Patrick Swayze's A&E drama "The Beast" hasn't been renewed for a second season, but it hasn't been canceled yet either, despite reports to the contrary.

"At this point no decision has been made," a publicist for the network tells Zap2it. "Any reports to the contrary are false."

The 56-year-old Swayze stars as veteran FBI agent Charles Barker and mentor to rookie partner Ellis Dove (Travis Fimmel), who's torn when he's asked to play double agent and inform on Barker, who's believed to have gone rogue.

Swayze made his battle with pancreatic cancer in 2008, and since then, there's been much focus on his health, speculation about his ability to continue working and even a false report of his death in May.

I loved The Beast and I hope Patrick is well enough to continue with it soon.

I am convinced Patrick Swayzee

will not transform The Beat

into a crime-fighting superhero in plain clothes

and time soon; hopwever, the

folks at Sony Pictures were

saddened to let The Best go.

I love anything that Patrick Swayze does. He was great in the Beast and I hope he regains his health to go onward with the series. My prayers go out to him.
