Princessprotectionprogram On Thursday, while rumors of Jeff Goldblum's demise ripped through Twitter like wildfire, Michael Jackson's death brought the social networking site to a grinding halt.

What could possibly match that kind of excitement on Friday?

It appears to be none other than the Disney Channel original movie "Princess Protection Program," starring real-life Disney princesses Demi Lovato ("Sonny With a Chance") and Selena Gomez ("Wizards of Waverly Place").

The term "Princess Program" appeared in trending topics early in the day and by the time it aired on the east coast had risen to the No. 1 spot. The also-related "PPP" was at No. 7.

While some were from exasperated parents like joshgeeksix -- "*sigh* Settling in to watch 'Princess Protection Program' with my daughter. O, Disney, what hath thou wrought? " -- most were along the enthusiastic lines of tonymfernandez's "My daughter and I are getting ready to watch Princess Protection Program. Will be getting the DVD on 6/30, of course! :)" and torywise's "have to admit.. i cried while watching Princess Protection Program ... and loved the music vid."

Missed the excitement? Don't worry, Disney Channel will be reairing the movie on Saturday and Sunday, and (like tonymfernandez said) it will be available for purchase on DVD next Tuesday.

We'll have to wait until next week to see how "Princess Protection Program" does ratings-wise, but at least it got to be Twitter Queen for a Day.

Take that "High School Musical."
