Daryl Hannah arrested again for activism
"Kill Bill" star Daryl Hannah got cosy with the law again, this time in West Virginia.
The 48-year-old actress and about 30 others were arrested Tuesday on misdemeanor charges of obstruction and impeding traffic as they blocked a road, protesting a coal mine in Raleigh County, reports RadarOnline.
"There is no need to destroy our planet to power our future. I have been on renewable energy for about 20 years, so I know it works," said Hannah at an earlier rally. "It's not necessary. If you do it wisely, there are ways to use renewables. It's realistic for everybody."
The demonstrators are against mountaintop removal mining, which blasts the mountain summit off in order to access coal seams.
Hannah has been arrested before in 2006 when she chained herself to a tree to protest the bulldozing of a South Central Los Angeles urban farm, which would cause the eviction of hundred of farmers and their families. She's also worked to end sexual slavery worldwide.
