Chastity Bono undergoing sex change

Chastity Bono could live by the immortal words of Austin Powers: "That ain't no woman! It's a man, man!"

The daughter of Cher and the late Sonny Bono has announced that he has begun the sex-change process to become a man, report news sources.

Bono, who will go by the name Chaz Bono as a man, had come out as gay 20 years ago.

Bono's rep Howard Bragman says that Bono "has made the courageous decision to honor his true identity" and hopes "that his choice to transition will open the hearts and minds of the public regarding this issue."

The issue has already been brought up on primetime television. On the 11th season of The CW's "America's Next Top Model," contestant Isis King revealed that she was born biologically male as Darrell Walls. Host Tyra Banks helped fund the full sex change later.

I just don't get how you go from being gay to changing sexes. I've been gay all my life and never thought anything like this. Maybe it's just me but I'm gay as a result of the people I loved "that much" and not because of sex. Personally, my reaction is that this is something really screwed up.

I get a kick out of the gay person "not understanding" Chaz's wish to be the person he was intended to be. These people are trapped in a body that doesn't match their personna. Personally, I think your reaction is totally screwed up.

To the "gay person" and the person who says how stupid this is...What your simple minds obviously cannot grasp is the difference between gender and sexuality. It is a scientific FACT that the two are not one and the same. There are many combonations that can exist between the two. What is stupid is the ignorance that persists in comments by the two of you. May you both experience more comp***ion and understanding in your life than your small minds allow you to give to others different from you.
