Amy Poehler will serving up heapin' helpings of beatings as the "Lunch Lady."

The "Parks and Recreation" star is attached to Universal's adaptation of the upcoming graphic-novel series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The books center on a school lunch lady by day who fights crime after hours.

Speaking of crime, Chris O'Dowd will go bad for the updated "Gulliver's Travels." O'Dowd will play a Lilliputian villain who goes up against Jack Black's Gulliver.

O'Dowd exercised his comic chops on the BBC series "The IT Crowd."

One more note from the dark side: Brittany Murphy uncovers "Something Wicked," the story of a teen girl whose parents are brutally murdered. No word on what role Murphy will play.
