Casting Call: 'Afraid of the Dark,' 'The Fighter,' 'Couple of Dicks'

Guy Pearce isn't afraid of much, and he may soon prove it.

The actor is in talks to star in Guillermo del Toro's remake of "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark," according to The Hollywood Reporter. Pearce is in talks to play the father of a teen who learns daddy and his new girlfriend (Katie Holmes) live with monsters. The movie is based on a 1973 ABC telemovie.

Bailee Madison has signed on as the young main character.

The trades say Adams is in final talks to co-star alongside Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg in the biopic of boxer "Irish" Micky Ward (Wahlberg). The "Enchanted" star would play Charlene, Micky's girlfriend.

-- Bruce Willis is adding to his family, sort of. Michelle Trachtenburg has signed on to play Willis' daughter in Kevin Smith's buddy-cop comedy "A Couple of Dicks," according to Variety.

Smith film staple Jason Lee, late of "My Name Is Earl," is also on board, and will be playing the Trachtenburg character's stepfather.
