Bret Michaels: Shrek and Donkey came to the rescue

Shrekdonkey Bret Michaels had visions of Shrek and Donkey, and all because of a head injury.

No, the Poison lead singer wasn't hallucinating after  banging his head, but lucidly recalling the two Broadway stars of "Shrek" who came to his aid after he brained himself on a piece of scenery at Sunday night's Tony Awards, reports People.

"He told me, 'All I remember is Shrek and the donkey helping me up, and Liza [Minnelli] giving me a towel,'" says his rep, Joann Mignano. "And Bret was laughing when he heard [Tonys host] Neil Patrick Harris said he gave new meaning to 'headbanging.' "

It's nice to see that despite a fractured nose and bloodied lip, he still has his sense of humor. Michaels is still suffering neck and back pains though, so it remains to be seen whether or not he can continue his next few engagements on his solo tour.
