TwitterVIDEO: Wanda Sykes at the White House Correspondents dinner
Comedian Wanda Sykes got the headliner spot Saturday at the White House Correspondents Association dinner, the annual gathering of Washington media types, celebrities and the president where everyone dresses up and makes fun of the guy in charge.
Sykes, who co-stars in "The New Adventures of Old Christine" and will have a late-night Saturday show on FOX next season, didn't go after Barack Obama too hard, chiding him for his basketball game and wondering if the fact that we don't see pictures of him smoking, but we have seen him shirtless is evidence that the media are in the tank for him: "I know you're into this transparency thing, but uh, I don't need to see your nipples. ... There was never a nipple portrait of Lincoln."
She also twisted around an old bit about Tiger Woods in talking about how proud she is to be able to say the country has its first black president. "Unless you screw up. Then it's, 'What's up with the half-white guy?'"
Sykes -- who's made no secret about her support for Obama -- saved her harshest jokes for some of the president's critics, including radio titan Rush Limbaugh. Referring to Limbaugh's remarks a few months back that he hopes the Obama administration doesn't succeed, she cracked, "I think maybe Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker, but he was so strung out on Oxycontin he missed his flight."

She was just out right over the line with Rush, but the left can get away with that.
Rush is a big boy, Alex. No doubt he'll get a good couple of hours of airtime material out of it.
Rush is a big boy, but the double standard given to the current administration is what I find insulting. The same press that is falling over themselves to tell us how great and knowledge Obama can't wait to point out any failing of a Republican. I don't pointing out the faults of Republicans but come on how about at least the appearance of non bias. That seems to be a long lost memory of the members of the press. Perhaps that explains why newpapers are failing and ratings for news programs are down.

she's not funny. never has been. making jokes about the death of a private citizen in the presence of and for the amusement of Barry Zero is about what i'd expect from her. that Barry Zero laughed, tells me all i really need to know about him. they deserve each other. no cl*** meets low cl***.

She nailed both sides, or did you think the comment about a bonus for failing was just some random comment? She even nailed the media for covering BS topics like the First Lady's arms. Pull your heads out, your butts are cramping.
