VIDEO: 'Trauma' gives NBC a shot of adrenalin
Peter Berg's "Friday Night Lights" scored with critics and a passionate fan base, and though it struggled in the ratings, the football drama was praised for its often introspective character-driven scenes.
Not so much for Berg's next, "Trauma." NBC's new drama about paramedics in San Francisco looks to be a flashy mix of medical drama and action, like "ER" after a hypo full of adrenalin. We're talking exploding tanker trucks, helicopter crashes, reckless driving -- pretty fun stuff. Cliff Curtis, Anastasia Griffith, Jamey Sheridan, Kevin Rankin and Derek Luke star. Give it a look:

I liked this show when it was Third Watch
I loved it when it was called "Emergency."
We gathered a few photos and observations from the set--it's certainly causing a scene in the area!

As a real Paramedic, with 18 years on the road, I can honestly say, so far this show sucks. But I will give it the benefit of the doubt and watch a couple of more shows. So far, a lot of really fake, never would happen things. The only show that did anything to promote Paramedics and E.M.S., was EMERGENCY ( aired on NBC in the early '70s). Did so much for the profession and bringing Paramedics so far into the public light, Paramedic programs flurished around the US and Canada, because of that "pre hospital" patient care improved and lives were saved. That earned the show a place in the Smithsonian Institute. What they did on the show was up to date and current for the times. They had real Paramedics, Fire Fighters, RNs and MDs serving on the show as advisors and in staring roles.
For this show's sake I hope it gets better and they try to be as realistic as possible. I can understand the need for some make believe drauma etc.. But come on now. I can go on for ever listing the errors I noted especially in the first scenes.
