The CW's fall 2009 schedule, night by night
The CW didn't tinker much for the fall, adding just three new series ("The Beautiful Life," "The Vampire Diaries" and the new "Melrose Place"). For its final season, the Superman story "Smallville" moves to Fridays, presumably because its audience will tune in no matter the night. Oh, and don't look for original programming on weekends; The CW got out of that game.
The CW signs a lease for 'Melrose Place'

So it's official that Smallville's final season is coming up. Let's hope the CW gives it good treatment on it's final season, especially since it's a well established series and the highest rated of the network. I don't like the move but Smallville has held strong through its run.
The CW has always been my favorite network. I will watch everything except America's Next Top Model, that I've never watched. One Three Hill should have ended this season, It won't be One Three Hill without Peyton and Lucas, and why presenting a repeat of Top Model on Friday, it would have left a place for another new show.
Where is "REAPER"? That was the best show on CW.
Reaper was cancelled unfortunately
What about Friday after Smallville?
Friday after Smallville is nap time.
Exactly! They should just make it a full night of Smallville. New episode first and then reruns after, or vice versa!
Tom Welling has signed on for 2 more seasons. So, it is likely that there will be a season 9 & 10. If you've been following the other networks schedules, a lot of them have been trying to make Friday a must see night again. I don't think it's the pergatory it has been in past seasons.
Supernatural, Grey's Anatomy, Fringe. All on at the same time. I've been watching all of them. Guess I have to decide which of them is most likely to be canceled so I don't waste my time trying to figure out how to view all of them. Have a feeling Fringe might not make it but I do like it. Ridiculous scheduling.
By the looks of this schdule, it might be CW's LAST YEAR ON THE AIR (ditto for Fox's My Network). Right now it's NOT FINANCIALLY FEASABLE to keep those networks on the air, since all owners of the afforementioned netowks have other venues (NewsCorp w/Fox broadcast and FX, TWX w/TBS and TNT and NatAm w/CBS and the various Viacom cable channels). Maybe all of CW major series will find homes on cable and one or 2 on Fox...
