The CW gives up on Sundays?
The CW and its chief Dawn Ostroff may not subject us to dismal Sunday lineups again since it's considering focusing on programming its five weeknights instead.
"As we plan our 2009-10 fall launch, we are in talks with several of our top affiliate partners about a number of creative and mutually beneficial actions that will build on our growing record of success," the network told The Hollywood Reporter.
"These discussions include an evolution of the strategy, which began this season, to focus the CW's resources on Monday through Friday nights. As a result, we are now exploring the transition of Sunday night to our affiliates."
Whew! The critics thank you. If you may recall, The CW handed over its Sunday lineup to MRC, which placed flops like (the critically acclaimed) "Easy Money" and (the critically panned) "Valentine" on the schedule, among other forgettable things.
Later, when it was apparent that nobody was tuning in, production halted on these shows and The CW decided to air old movies, "Jericho" and "The Drew Carey Show" repeats in their place. Ouch.
Your thoughts? Is this a good sign or a bad sign for the network?

Unfortunately for everyone who missed it, "Easy Money" was/could have been a very good show.
I agree. Easy Money had potential to be a good series. It probably would have done better on FX or AMC.
I loved Easy Money. It was better than anything CW now airs Mon. thru Wed. and Fri.
My take on this is that Sunday's 5 hours can be taken to the other 5 nights of primetime and it would make since for the CW to expand from 2 hours a night to 3 and can create a better flow and add more flexibility since NBC will really be programming 2 hours a night of non talk show fare in the Fall. I think it would be smart so eventually they would have a stronger network. But we will see what they say in two weeks at the upfronts.
there's an ancient chinese proverb that says: if you've got no quality shows to put on the air, then shut the #*@% up and let someone else have the air time. ;)
Easy Money was a good show that had a lot of promise. I wish it could have aired on a different channel.
CW's dead meat. Once Smallville, Supernatural and Top Model finally go off which will probably be in two years tops the network will be dead. They haven't produced a buzzworthy or decently rated show since Supernatural and even that barely gets a 2.0 Telemundo kicks its *** daily for God's sakes!!
All the other networks rerun on sa****ay night they can just do that on sunday
CHASE: the thing is...it's really hurting their average. By removing Sunday from schedule, they save money and can concentrate on getting viewers to tune in Friday.
Easy Money was great. I wish it was given a chance. Hopefully us fans, though few, will get a dvd release!
