The day after Donald Trump allowed Carrie Prejean to keep her Miss California crown, Shanna Moakler has resigned from the beauty pageant organization, reports Usmagazine.com.
"Since the press conference yesterday, I had a chance to think about what has taken place, and I feel that at this time it is in my best interest to resign from the Miss California USA organization," she tells Us. "I cannot with a clear conscious [sic] move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it, or the contracts I signed committing myself as a youth."
Moakler goes on to say that right now, it's "more important to be a role model for my children."
Prejean, 21, caused controversy in mid-April when she answered a pageant question posed by judge/blogger Perez Hilton that she was against gay marriage. The flames were fanned further when photos of her posing in her underwear as a teenager were uncovered.
Moakler, 34, is a former beauty queen herself and appeared in a PSA opposing Prop 8, which bans gay marriage.

And that dirtbag Perez Hilton walks away without a scratch, he's the one who started this mess with his stupid question.
Didnt Shanna Moakler pose in playboy. So her quiting must have nothing to do with the pictures. Which means it is just the question. What is the point of living in the USA if you cannot answer a question with how you feel. I honestly do not care if Gay and Lesbians can get married it would not bother me. This woman could have lied but she decided to exersise he right to free speech. Stuff like this makes me worry about our counrty.
The thing that bothered me, wasn't so much that it was a stupid question, but a controversial question, in which one should have expected to get a controversial answer (depending on where they stood). Hilton was offended as a gay man, because rather than going the same route and appeasing him by giving a pro gay marriage answer, Prejean went with how she really felt and told him that she was against gay marriage, a position that millions upon millions of Americans have. So because his ego wasn't greased, Hilton made a huge "to-do" over this and basically ruined this girl for no reason, along with the media.
Shanna, stop trying for another 15 min. It was shirtless from the back. Didn't Miley just do the same thing?
She is just being a bad sport because someone had a different opinion. Get over it and grow up.
It's amazing.... if you don't agree with liberals... they simply can't handle it!!! Give me a BREAK!!! Carrie Prejean has a right to her opinion, just like Perez Hilton has a right to his.
This whole thing was just retaliation against Prejean for not giving the politically correct answer. Anyone in the public eye is scared to answer as she did because they'd be ruined by the special interests groups.
Prejean does indeed have the right to her opinion, but she shouldn't be using the Miss California title as a platform. What she does once her time is over is her business. But in her current position this sort of thing is inappropriate. It would have been just as inappropriate had she appeared with Moakler in the anti-Prop 8 PSA. (As Moakler is not longer representing California she's free to do whatever she wants. If Prejean wants to become the new Anita Bryant, she's welcome to it ... after her time as Miss California comes to an end.
Good. She was trying to suppress the honest opinion of an individual which is wrong.

Shanna Moakler had to resign. She clearly wasn't supportive of the program. By interjecting her own political bias she proved to be a poor choice for the directorship position. Naked pictures of Ms Moakler are readily googled on the Internet. Thus she is a complete phony.
