POLL: Which ABC canceled show will you miss the most?

Pushingdaisies_290 Fans held onto hope, but "Samantha Who?" joined the graveyard of ABC's beloved canceled shows that include "Pushing Daisies" and "Eli Stone."

It's a competitive business to be sure, but giving "Sam" the boot while renewing "Scrubs" and "Better Off Ted" -- both of which aren't on the fall schedule but are being held (for a possible midseason fill in?) -- seems like a head scratcher.

The show could easily have been paired with ABC's new comedy "Cougar Town," starring Courteney Cox.

And while ABC gives highly imaginative shows a shot -- "Pushing Daisies," "Life on Mars," "Eli Stone" -- it's rare that the network sticks with them. There are some exceptions though, such as "Lost."

Do you think ABC made the right decision to cancel these shows? Should they have given them one more shot?

I didn't know they had cancelled "The Unusuals". I was hoping they'd give it a chance. I liked it. I was hesitant to watch it given ABC's history of cancelling shows (Eli was my fav) but liked the stars in it. Figures. Should've known better. I'm done with ABC.

If you are going to go with imaginative shows you have to give them time to find an audience. With ABC it seems to be one and done. They should adopt a plan that favors quality and then wait. It may take a season or two but the audience will find them. Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies and Life on Mars could have been hits if ABC had shown more patience. I never watched Samantha Who? bur I had friends that liked it. Right now, I watch Lost via annual DVD release, Grey's Anatomy and Castle. I skip sll of the rest of their shows. Too many disappointments have led to a reluctance to involve myself in any new shows. I'm only going to try them after I hear that a second season has been okayed.

Just when I was rejoycing that Better Off Ted was recued, I find it is scheduled as a mid-term replacement. Way to commit ABC. That will probably mean that it will fill in for a show that never really had a chance, (I'll go pick on in a second) and fail as well because nobody will be attracted to a show that they haven't seen and hasn't been around for a while. Not to mention the cast losing interest because of the unstable fate of the show. Great.

And the winner - Modern Family with Hamk a clsoe second.

Pushing Daisies and Sam Who...

Eli Stone and Pushing Daisies for sure. Those were my two fav shows on television. I was sorry to see them go.

looking at what's on the schedule then I guess I'll be looking to the other networks

Good news for NBC!!

I'm surprised no cable outlets have stepped forward to pick up Sam, Daisies, or Eli. They seem like a natural fit for, say USA, Showtime, or ABC cousin Lifetime.

Samantha Who? was different, fun and offbeat. Why must network TV feel this must talk down to the viewing public?

I'll watch Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Brothers & Sisters & Lost until they end their runs, but I don't think I'll even watch one episode of any new shows on ABC. I've become invested in too many good shows that were cancelled because they didn't pull 20 million viewers every week. I'm so upset they cancelled Samantha, Who? It had been moved around & taken off the schedule so many times, it didn't have a chance. It joins Once & Again, October Road, Dirty Sexy Money, & What About Brian as shows that ABC made me think they wanted me to watch, but really didn't. They brought Scrubs back for a proper send off, but now they're bringing it back?? I haven't read anything about the new premise & don't care. Who is running this network???
