Having a child has been a long time in coming for actress Mary Stuart Masterson.
The 42-year-old actress announced last week at the Rainforest Alliance 2009 annual gala in New York City that she's finally expecting her first child, according to Life & Style magazine.
Masterson has been married to actor Jeremy Davidson, who stars on Lifetime's "Army Wives," since 2006. They've been trying for a child for a while now.
Masterson is best known for her '80s and '90s roles in films like "Some Kind of Wonderful" and "Benny & Joon." Lately, she's taken her skills to TV, guest starring on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Cupid."

Yeah pregnancies after 50 can be hard but if you'd READ THE ARTICLE you would see she is 42
42! she has been around for a long time, is she not counting the night, 52 is more like it. not sure why all these hollywood people get knocked up at an old age. such bad role models.

You people think that it's more 'appropriate'/'better "role modeling"', for celebrities to have children at extremely young ages, like Jamie Lynn Spears, and such?!?! :-| Frankly, I don't see why so many people even want to have children, at all....But, if this woman wants to have a child, and is doing so, now, I don't see why you have a problem with it/what the big deal is. Yes, any older, might be an issue...And, it is a matter of concern, when someone is older, that they may not get to live to even see their child to adult-hood (though, I suppose that that is a possibility, with anyone)...But, if she isn't in bad health, it shouldn't be an issue. Yeah, she's a little older...But, sometimes, people want to focus on their careers. Did you h***le Halle Berry?!...She was 40-ish. Hell, I think that it's gross, at any age, (and wish that it wasn't like such a 'Hollywood fad', now-a-days :-S)...But, that's just me.

What the hell is wrong with you people, 42 is not old. And a lot of women who are not in the entertainment industry are having babies in their 40's. And what kind of publicity stunt do you think she is trying to accomplish. It would be nice if people would think before they speak.
no 42 is very young to have a child, esp if you want it to have complications later in life. this is like saying, cant wait till she has the 2nd one at the young age of 47.
