'Jon & Kate Plus 8's' mystery woman speaks up

Jon Gosselin's lady friend who set tongues a-wagging last week when her picture was snapped with the "Jon & Kate Plus 8" star outside a Pennsylvania club late at night wants to set the record straight: There's no cheating going on.

"We're just friends," says Deanna Hummel, 23, she tells People. "It's absurd that anyone would think otherwise. "We just talk and socialize, the normal things you do when you see friends"

In the interview, she explains how she wanted to drive his new car, which is when photographers snapped them together, how they did party at the Legends Bar in Reading, Pa., and how she was outraged that anyone would think she'd pursue a married man who has eight children.

There you have it. Both parties have spoken and claim everything was innocent (if unwise).

Can we lay this to rest already? Or do we need to talk to Kate Gosselin as well?

I would like to think that all of this is a roomer. I love jon and kate and i cant imagine the effect that this must have on her. i personally woukd be greatly ashamed that all of this was happening and she was away. people always comment on how mean she is. but there is one thing that we have to realize at the same time the cameras only let us see what they want us to. it could be completely different when the cameras arent rolling. i have seen every episode and i love kate she is a wonderful mom to the 8 children and i feel that jon is a good father. whatever may or may not have happened i wish them the absolute best and all my prayers and love go out to them.

I WISH THE MEDIA WOULD JUST LEAVE THESE PEOPLE ALONE FOR HEAVENS SAKE!!!! THEY HAVE 8 KIDS TOGETHER!!!IF HE IS CHEATING ON HER THATS KATES PROBLEM & THERE BUSINESS NOT OURS. JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE A SHOW THAT IS ABOUT THEIR KIDS DOESNT MEAN WE NEED 2 KEEP TRYING 2 MAKE HIM OUT THE BAD GUY!! ITS SO STUPID JUST LEAVE THESE PEOPLE ALONE!!! I HOPE U GUYS OUT THERE AGREE W/ME!!!

I agree; they shouldn't have to put up with this crap. Even if both of them were stepping out on each other, it's nobody's business but theirs. I for one believe they are a fully committed couple, to each other & to their family. I wish all 10 of them nothing but the absolute best.

No, I don't agree with you, Ashley. For starters, I never agree with someone who write everything in capital letters. Second, when a pair started whoring their children for cash, it means they allowed the general public to have opinions about them, whether they like it or not. If one can't take it, don't be a reality show fame-ho! Also, I don't know what exactly happened on that day or between them, but a father of 8 young children doesn't go out alone with a 23yo girl and party all night. You're no Britney!

Yeah, they got themselves on TV, do***enting their personal lives and how they cope with raising 8 children. To say that the media should ignore how these people behave when TLC's cameras aren't on is silly and hypocritical.

I'm SO sure "they're just friends" and she just wanted to see his new car at 2:00 am! Dude, you've got a wife and 8 kids. Go home!!!

Has anyone ever seen the nanny? The kids on that show are so disrespectful to their parents. Kate does a good job, her kids do behave and are respectful.

I do feel however, kate is out for fame and attention. Marketing her kids for a profit is unhealthy. The show has really lost quality.

I don't watch the newer epoisodes with the new house.

Money most of all can be the rute of all evil. Now they have everthing they want, but is it worth it?

Kate is out for money and fame. I used to watch the show until she got her tummy tuck, hair done and new house. Will they be able to afford that lifestyle once the show isnt on anymore? It would be funny if they lost everything!

I love the show and I would hate to see them break up. Jon should have known better but he I guess he learned a lesson. As far as the 23 yr old chick goes, I guess she doesn't know any better. They should have put him in a cab to go home. She doesn't have any business driving a married man's car. The next time sweetie, some man's wife is going to pull you ought of the car by your hair!

Both parents are irresponsible for pimping out their kids on television! It is disgraceful. They should receive scrutiny. If not for them, perhaps their wouldn't be people like octo-mom who think they can make a quick buck by giving birth to a litter! Really. Disgusting.
