'Jon & Kate Plus 8' mom Kate Gosselin blames Jon for 'tension'

Kate Gosselin of "Jon & Kate Plus 8" fame believes in her man, but that doesn't mean she's letting him off the hook for causing this hoopla in the first place.

In an interview with EW, Jon Gosselin declares, "I am not guilty of cheating on my wife," and reiterates that he was just hanging out with his friend Deanna Hummel.

Finally, Kate gets her say:

"It's disturbing and unfortunate that these tabloids have gone as far as they have to try and bring us down. Jon's poor judgment and irresponsible behavior has also without a doubt caused some added tension and stress between the two of us."

Fans of the show know that Kate has often been painted as the villain, nagging and hounding Jon for various slights. If this is everyday marital behavior, then the Gosselin home must be a very chilly, chilly tundra right now.

"Jon & Kate Plus 8" returns to TLC with its fifth season on Monday, May 25. The tabloid stories won't be addressed specifically, but may get an overall mention on how the public focus has affected their lives.

Absolute fool. You want a night out it should be with the boys. Not some "New Friend" that happens to be a female. When you get married your circle of friends changes..it becomes couples. How would he like it if his wife suddenly had a "New Single Male Friend" and was out at the bar with him at 2 am. He should be ashamed of himself. Whether or not he slept with her or is having or has had an affair no one can really say. But it's wrong any way you look at it to be out hanging out and drinking with a woman that is not your wife. He needs a night out..she needs one as well. You do that together. NO matter if she is a shrew or not. If he is not happy then the door is there. Lots of men are great fathers even if they are not married and with the mother of their children.

I think people need to stop ragging on Kate as well. It's hard being a mother and having 8 with six the same age is rough. No matter how involved a dad is the bulk of the work always falls back on a mother.

My grandmother had a family the size of Jon & Kate's, and she didn't emasculate my grandfather at every turn the way Kate does to Jon. One's husband should be their ally, not their whipping boy.

She might be a good mother and the stress she goes through with that many kids has to be hard. However, using that to justify how she treats him sometimes is a cop out.

I hope he didn't cheat but if he did, he needs to man up and admit the truth. Having said that, Kate is not exactly innocent either if the show is any indication how she treats him. I am sure she is even worse off camera. Bottom line she treats him like dirt sometimes and eventually that will drive any person away.

Of course Kate blames Jon---She blames EVERYBODY for Everything! Oh its the "tabloids fault for reporting on them"--I know this is hopeless but just ONCE,I would like to see her take some responsibility for her part in this trainwreck!

It's stressful to raise kids, try to keep the house clean, do arons and maintain a happy marriage.

Jon and Kate can not escape the stress and strain that they face trying to raise all those precious kids. Those of us who have one or two kids have our difficult moments let alone Jon & Kate.

People should shut up about Kate. Poor woman, she does not have it easy...of course she is going to vent out on Jon.

I really wish Jon and Kate the best and hope that they get through this wether the story is true or not. And if it unfortunately turns out that there is some truth to the story...shame on the other woman for going along with a weak stressed out man (Jon). Back off trashy Deanna!!!!

It's been a long time coming...Other then being a responsible man and staying for his kids I think he should have been divorced her after seeing on National T.V. how he is treated by the one person who suppose to have you back. It's more like he is her odlest son she talks down to him and never shows in respect I stopped my family from watching the show.

You people do know that these reality shows are edited and pretty much scripted (hence the writers wanting to up for Emmies for best writing of a reality show). Since I don't watch this show I can't judge anyone,s behavior. Oddly it is May sweeps and it is interesting that this "news" is breaking now just when any show could use a raings boost.

I have watched this show because I love the kids and watching them grow, but I don't know anymore. I can't believe Kate just said that about Jon---more ammunition for the tabloids.

Get real people. Kate has help to clean her house, do her wash and cook her meals and a nanny to watch her kids. So don't tell me how hard she has it. She doesn't have a clue what hard work is.
