Jamie Oliver, Ryan Seacrest want you to lose weight
ABC is hoping to carve into "The Biggest Loser's" niche with a new show that will feature British chef Jamie Oliver helping some America's fattest cities live healthier.
Oliver is teaming with Ryan Seacrest for the series, which ABC has picked up for six episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It will be similar to "Jamie's School Dinners," a British series Oliver hosted in 2005 that helped one school do away with heavily processed foods and serve students fresher fare and sparked the government to commit to the idea nationwide.
In the ABC version, Oliver will travel to a city deemed among the fattest in America to help schools, businesses and other groups take advantage of local ingredients and work on the way people think about food. Seacrest is executive producing the show.
"As a kid I was chubby, and I'm a firm believer that the fuel we put into our body results in a healthy lifestyle," Seacrest tells the HR. "Jamie's going to come over here, roll up his sleeves and use the resources of each town to help condition living habits to make it a better and healthier place."
Oliver is best known in this country for cooking shows that have aired on the Food Network, from "The Naked Chef" to "Jamie at Home." He was also a judge on "Oprah's Big Give," which aired on ABC last year.
There's no word yet on when the new show will air.

I am hopeful that this will be a good show that can last for more than one season. ABC has rolled one of these kinds of shows out every summer for the past year ("Shaqs Big Challenge" and "Fat March") but none of them had a second season.
Ryan Seacrest is just a host on the juggernaut ratings champ AI, what qualifies him to be an EP. AI wasn't his brainchild. Can we say Momma's Boys.
Ryan Secrest works his *** off.....
