It's official: 'Chuck' is back next season
Breathe easy and stock up on your foot-long sandwiches, "Chuck" fans: NBC has finally given the official word that the show will return next season.
That's about all the information there is so far -- the network is releasing its 2009-10 schedule later Tuesday morning, at which point we'll know where the object of an intense save-the-show campaign lands during the week. NBC does note, however, that the renewal was made possible in part by the show entering into an "innovative advertising partnership" with Subway.
The sandwich-shop chain got prominent product placement in several "Chuck" episodes this season, and fans pledged to buy subs in support of the show when its finale aired April 27. The new ad deal calls for more product integration on the air (maybe the new bunker will be under a Subway?) along with more traditional advertising tie-ins.
"This innovative partnership is a perfect example of the effectiveness of the NBC Infront," NBC co-chairman Ben Silverman says. "By involving Subway early in the process, we were able to bring a quality show like 'Chuck' back to NBC for next season. Everybody wins -- NBC, Subway, and the loyal fans who so enthusiastically lobbied for 'Chuck's' renewal."

=) Its time for season 3 to unleash the Casey
Yes, I here they are going to rename the Buy More. It will now be called Buy More Subway Subs.
Another low-rated season of Chuck for NBC... The only question is what motivates them to shoot themselves repeatedly in the ratings foot.
It's not like that show is going to magically increase its audience when it's declined steadily throughout its run.
So, what, Rena, you'd rather have more loser celebrity apprentices and crap reality programming that a clever and witty scripted series like Chuck? Ratings are so inaccurate without taking into account DVRs and online viewing. The rating system needs a total overhaul so shows can get judged fairly. Viva la Chuck!
Spot on, Carmichael!
Come on Chuck fans, now let's all do our part. Get friends and family to watch the show. Host a season opener viewing party - if someone sees it for the first time and likes it, they might continue to watch. Every person I have "forced" to watch Chuck has become a fan. It's a great show.
I only wish they'd find a different time slot for it - going up against Dancing with the Stars isn't ideal.
Rena,
Don't mind them, you are correct. Chuck did not deserve a renewal over say Life. A MUCH better program than Chuck, but the good thing is, luckily it't not a full season, only 13 episodes with a reduced budget. Life is and will always be a much better show.
TL, I've never seen Life so I'll take your word for it that it's a good show. But why does that mean you have to bash Chuck? Couldn't we agree that there are so few quality *scripted* shows these days that we should be fighting for ALL the good ones?
Chuck has a clever premise, is very well written and has great chemistry within the cast. Oh, and as a parent, I cannot tell you how nice it is to have a show the entire family looks forward to and watches together. How many of those are around these days...?
Not bashing the show, just stating my opinion. As far as the premise goes, he inadvertently downloads government secrets into his brain? Yea, that's believable. There are so few scripted shows that are left, but some of the ones that get the attention, shouldn't get the attension. I include Chuck as one of those shows. Just my opinion.
Chuck is great glad its back, wish it would be backbefore march
We have to wait till February?? Oh my!
