Is Chace Crawford being recruited to revitalize the Republican party?

Chacecrawford Senior Senator Arlen Specter defected from the Republican party last week, but the GOP is not to worry! "Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford may be coming to their rescue.

According to US Weekly, the conservative-skewing Fox News Channel has invited Crawford to this Saturday's White House Correspondents Dinner as a guest of the network.

Apparently, Fox News has also extended invites to Sarah Palin and Matthew Modine, but neither of them are going to bring the youth and sexiness of "Gossip"'s Nate Archibald, are they?

L. O. L.

I mean, I know Chace is from Texas, but I'm pretty sure not everyone from the Lone Star State is a registered Republican. Does anyone know if Chace is even interested in politics?

I'm more disappointed to hear about Modine, I remember his youth and sexiness.

I'm living proof not every Texan is Republican...

Republicans are AMERICA!

"I mean, I know Chace is from Texas, but I'm pretty sure not everyone from the Lone Star State is a registered Republican. Does anyone know if Chace is even interested in politics?"

Aren't these the type of questions a reporter generally gets answered before publishing something about it?

Fox News' invite probably has more to do with Crawford's popularity among the younger (teen) set than it does his actual political leanings.

Crawford could be a Republican, I don't know if he's gone on record about his political persuasion, and who even knows if he's registered to vote.

Hollywood does have some prominent Republicans. I know Patricia Heaton (Debra from "Everybody Loves Raymond") is one and I believe Clint Eastwood is too.

And so what if he is a Republician. I know its a taboo in Hollywood to not be a Democratic, but I say power to him if he chooses to stick with what he believes.

He's welcome to be a Republican. No judgment on him either way. I just find Fox News' courting of someone in his position as kind of funny. Especially if he hasn't even publicly expressed any interest in politics.

"Republicans are AMERICA!"

According to recent polls, Only 21% of Americans Identify themselves as Republican. Don't think that represents America.

Boy for a second there, i thought my political feed and my entertainment feed in my google reader somehow got mixed together in a horrible accident.

LOL James
