Happy Mother's Day: 'Motherlover' from 'SNL'
Justin Timberlake's third official hosting stint on "Saturday Night Live" (not counting his numerous pop-ins in recent seasons) played a little bit like a greatest-hits version of his previous times on the show.
There was another installment of "The Barry Gibb Talk Show" with Jimmy Fallon (rightfully exiled to a post-"Update" slot), and a reprise of the "Bring it on down to [insert business here]-ville" sketch, this time with JT hawking plastic surgery while off against Will Forte's gym-hustling barbell.
And, oh yeah, the digital short. About two and a half years after "D*ck in a Box" (the link is to the uncensored version, by the way) became a sensation, Timberlake and Andy Samberg reprised their Color Me Badd-biting characters, now out of jail and sweating what to give their moms (played by supremely good sports Patricia Clarkson and Susan Sarandon) for Mother's Day.
The result is "Motherlover." It's filthy and hilarious and maybe not something you'd want to watch with your own mom, and there's not much more I can say, so just watch:
How do you think Timberlake did in his third "SNL" stint? And what did you think of "Motherlover"?

I thought that it was clever
I agree with Smitty. Timberlake and Garth Brooks are the most unexpectedly good singers as comedic "actors" to ever have appeared on the show, imo. I'll only watch anymore if either one of them is on. OK, Shatner, too, but he's in a different category. (Samberg's vids are consistently hysterical.)
Justin and Andy are just too hilariously hot as the singers and do I see another Emmy nod coming their way. Susan and Patricia, OMG, two highly regarded and critically acclaimed actresses, I can't believe they did this digital short - good sports indeed. Patricia is no stranger to comedy though as she had a very funny guest-starring role (understated by comparison) on Frasier and Susan Sarandon, she isn't either, as she did a skit with Michael McDonald on MADtv a while back.
Justin keeps hittin 'em out of the ballpark IMO. Who would have thought he was this talented - comedy wise.
That is freakin' hilarious. I love it.
Loving Motherlover. So wrong but so funny.
Maybe now NBC will finally put out an SNL Digital Shorts DVD?

I thought the whole episode was really funny, MUCH better than most of them this season. I guess because as mentioned it was largely a "greatest hits" type show. But what happened near the end of the show? L-O-N-G commercial break, then a 30- or 60-second interlude from the SNL orchestra, and then more commercials, before the closing "Thank you and good night". Seriously, it was like they had just run out of sketches and they just ran commercials for what seemed like 5 or 6 minutes.
Susan Sarandan is fantastic and is no stranger to comedy. Her appearance on Chappelle's Show a few years ago in one of those "Moment's with 'Lil John" bits was hilarious.
It was awesome! Andy and Justin truly could make a living just doing these raunchy digital shorts! They're laugh-out-loud funny every time!
