'Gossip Girl's' Ed Westwick to brood in 'Wuthering Heights'
If the darkly brooding Ed Westwick were ever made for a role, it would be the angst-ridden Heathcliff.
The "Gossip Girl" star and Gemma Arterton have been tapped to star as the tempestuous leads for Ecosse Films' adaptation of "Wuthering Heights," reports Variety.
Westwick is best known as "Gossip Girl's" rakish and dissolute Chuck Bass, whose only really redeeming quality is that he loves, but can't have Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester). So when it comes to playing Heathcliff, Westwick knows about yearning and sturm and drang.
If this adaptation remains true to the novel, we can't wait to see Westwick wear period clothes and traipse around the moors.
We'll just check this off of our list of dream roles we'd like Westwick to play along with Hamlet and a vampire. Whoa, how about a vampire Hamlet?
