'Friday Night Lights' star Minka Kelly joins 'Roommate'

Minka Kelly, whose character recently graduated from the "Friday Night Lights" in Dillon, Texas, is about to find out college can be more dangerous than getting between Buddy Garrity and a Landing Strip buffet.

Kelly has joined the cast of Screen Gems' "The Roommate," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Gossip Girl's" Leighton Meester and "Twilight" baddie Cam Gigandet had already signed on for the flick. While previous reports pegged Meester as the sane one, apparently she'll now be playing the unhinged roomie obsessed with Kelly's character's life, including her relationship with boyfriend Gigandet.

Honestly, we'd rather have seen Kelly expand her acting chops by playing the crazy one.
