FOX gets out of the 'Talkshow' business

FOX has canceled "Talkshow with Spike Feresten," wiping its Saturday late-night slate clean for next season.
Feresten's show, which ran for three years, won't be back for a fourth, Broadcasting & Cable reports. "Talkshow" currently follows "MADtv," which will end its 14-season run on May 16.
FOX isn't ceding the territory entirely, though. The network announced in April that it will air a new show with comedian Wanda Sykes on Saturdays starting in the fall.
Feresten, a former writer for "Seinfeld," "The Late Show with David Letterman" and others, launched his show to modest fanfare in 2006, and it never really became a player in the late-night game. "Talkshow" got a brief tryout at 11 p.m. Saturdays in the fall but was soon back in its midnight spot.
Sykes' untitled show will feature guests interacting in panel discussions, a la "Real Time with Bill Maher," along with taped pieces featuring the comic outside the studio.

Im mad about mad tv but there aint nothin i can do about it so yea. But excited about wanda shes always been funny to me. Never cared for spike.
I always liked the Feresten talkshow, and, of course, enjoyed MadTV before all the good cast members left.
With Danny you had about 10 seconds of screaming, but with Adam you get 1 1/2 mins. of it. Go ahead and crown Allison and send the rest home.
Well, add this to the list of Stupid FOX Network Mistakes (A Couple of notches below canceling "Arrested Development", but several above Canceling "Dark Angel")
They need to pick up Life, Crusoe, Eli Stone, Homeland Security USA, My Own Worst Enemy

This sucks. I thought Spike's show was starting to grow and continue on. What a mistake they made. Just as bad as cancelling Arrested Development and (maybe) King of the Hill. :(
I will give wanda sykes a chance this fall. However, fox needs to bring back talkshow with spike feresten. If madtv was replaced by wana sykes, nothing can replace talkshow with spike feresten.
