'Dollhouse' DVD includes unaired pilot and 'Epitaph One' episode
Will "Dollhouse" return next season? FOX is keeping mum for now, but in the meantime we can look forward to some new (to us) footage on DVD and Blu-ray, on sale July 28.
Along with the 12 episodes aired this season, the "Dollhouse" DVD will include the original unaired pilot "Echo" in addition to the never-before-seen standalone episode "Epitaph One."
Other goodies to look forward to are commentaries by Joss Whedon, deleted scenes and featurettes as follows:
"Making Dollhouse"
"Coming Back Home"
"Finding Echo"
"Designing a Perfect Dollhouse"
"A Private Engagement"
So, are we all there? What are your hopes for next season?

I am definitely going to buy this DVD on its release date! It's such a good show and it's a shame more people aren't watching it. I suggest that they air it following American Idol to give it a larger build-in audience. Obviously they couldn't expect a big ratings winner on Friday nights. Please save Dollhouse!
Is this early release good news for a second season? Maybe they will see how well the DVDs sell to get more data for another Spring season.
Remember, this is the same network that refused to use the "Arrested Development" DVDs as promotional material, only releasing them a few weeks before the new season.
Although I enjoyed it, I really don't see a 2nd season for Dollhouse. Its ratings fell every single week, even for the season finale (in which you would expect at least a few people who had tuned out to tune back in and see what happened).
I will definitely add Dollhouse to my DVD collection. Fox should give Dollhouse a second season. As a last resort Fox can always run it for 13 weeks during the summer just like USA does to some of its shows. Or if Dollhouse doesn't get a second season from Fox maybe it can get one from SciFi.
I like the show, despite its flaws, and there are more than one.
The "elephant in the room" was actually brought up by JW himself when talking about the show around its premier: Why would anyone pay millions for an "engagement" when one could simply hire a professional in the required field of expertise? That question was never answered to my satisfaction.
Still, it was an interesting concept and of course JW produced the *#@&! out of it.
But with, what, like 3 million viewers in the end, how can it possibly survive?
I still think that the reason this show was doomed from the Start By Fox because of the Friday Night Line-Up. One other comment that I saw on another blog is that this time slot coincided with the Premiere of Star Trek in theaters, hence the lower ratings. However, everywhere else, Hulu, ITunes, what have you, it's gotten high marks.
But, we will really never know until next week.
I seriously want Dollhouse on DVD. I was reading on other websites that the DVDs will be limited only, and you can only get it if you travel somewhere about something.
DOLLHOUSE IS THE ****!! =)
