'Dancing' star Julianne Hough wants to get 'Footloose'
Everybody just wants to dance.
Add "Dancing with the Stars" hoofer Julianne Hough to the list of actors dancing around "Footloose," according to Entertainment Weekly. The mag says Hough has auditioned for the remake's lead female role.
"Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford has already signed on as the main character, a role that just months ago was seen as a centerpiece for "High School Musical's" Zac Efron.
"Footloose" will update the 1984 Kevin Bacon classic about a town where teens are taught dancing is a sin. It takes one out-of-towner, in this case Crawford's Ren, to show the locals dancing can be good clean fun.

I think the burning question here is why they are remaking Footloose at all. It doesn't seem like a great idea...

Derek Hough is up for the lead role in Footloose. It is unlikely that both he and Julianne will make it. That would have brother and sister as romantic partners.

I'd rather look at Julianne than hear her sing. Even with manipulating and tuning her voice with computers, she's still vanilla, non-musical, and boring. And by the way, Miley Cyrus can't sing. Girls like this wouldn't even have careers in music if we couldn't see them or if they were judged on their musical talent alone.
