No surprise. Like you said we already knew but its nice to finally hear the CW admitting it.

this is bull****!!!! what's wrong with Mark, there isn't any more stories to tell just end the series!!! dawn these producers always make the same mistakes. they did the same thing for the O.C .If they would have ended this season. the series would have ended on a good note. now they are going to ruin the whole image of the show. that's wack

I disagree with the above post. You have no idea what is in Mark's head and if he has more stories to tell. That is only up to him. I am not saying everyone is going to like the stories, I am just saying he probably has more.

Also, i just wanted to say that I found the OC un-watchable until after they killed Marissa so it's hard to compare the two.

Although I love Lucas and Peyton, I will be fine to survive on a diet of Nathan, Haley, Jamie, Brook and Julien. I really wish they would have been able to keep the other two, especially Hilary, but I am sure there are good reasons why they were not renewed. Reasons we can only speculate about.

I would have liked to see Hilarie stay, but I think the show can go on without them. I'll wait to see how Mark spins it.

As for the post with the OC... That is the very reason I think this show can continue. The OC was better (and showed in the ratings) even after Marissa left. Season four was as good as season one and critics noticed. Same goes for OTH. Just because a couple cast members are leaving, doesn't mean the show will go to hell. We still have Sophia, Joy, and James to carry the show and I feel they will do great. I'll hold judgment till I see how it goes.

Well, let's see. If Mark is gonna give us any more soft-spoken conversations between Nathan and his semi-pro coach, or more sulky-pouty scenes involving Mouth, or Brooke crying over Julian or Sam, or the bartender "inspiring" Mia to write a song, or Haley encouraging Mia/Sam/Nate/Jamie/Brooke...well, we can just CERTAINLY look forward to THAT storytelling.
