Patriciaarquette_02_medium_290 There really may be life after death ... for the supernatural drama "Medium."

NBC canceled the CBS Television Studios-produced drama Tuesday, a decision that CBS found "inexplicable," according to industry reports.

"The ratings don't lie," reads a statement by CBS. "'Medium' outperforms many of NBC's renewed shows. Despite inconsistent scheduling, 'Medium,' under the creative vision of [creator] Glenn Gordon Caron, one of the most preeminent producers in television, has always performed with distinction both creatively and commercially. Multiple award-winning actress Patricia Arquette and the cast have delivered a stellar series for five consistent seasons.  The awards and ratings speak for themselves. We believe the show has a significant future and await developments."

It's possible that if CBS gives "Medium" new life, it will be a companion show for "Ghost Whisperer" on Fridays for double the speaking-to-the-dead action.

Your thoughts? Would this be a wise move by CBS? What about NBC's decision?

Yes, please CBS! Show NBC what a stupid decision they made and pick up this incredible show. The series gets better and better, year after year and week after week!

NBC made a huge mistake, as usual. I hope CBS takes over and shows it on Friday nights after Ghost Whisperer; it would be a perfect time slot.

Yes, great idea CBS. You did it before with JAG when NBC canceled it and look what that show did for your ratings!

"Inexplicable" is being nice. Downright ludicrous is more like it. I hope CBS does save Medium and that pairing with Ghost Whisper is genius compared to what NBC has done with its entire schedule.

Well, all I can say is that NBC continues to cut off its nose to spite itself. Medium was really the only good show they had. It's much more believeable and down to earth than Ghost Whisperer, which I do watch occasionally. On the other hand, I don't think I've ever missed an episode of Medium in 5 years. It's a teriffic show. I sincerely hope CBS picks it up. They continually air the best and most thoughtful programs on TV. Medium would fit well into their program lineup any night they chose to air it.

Pick-it-up!! NBC blew it with Scrubs & now Medium so yes, CBS, grab it & run with it. Perhaps you'd be interested in Pushing Daisies as well, since ABC seems to have the same lack of mental capacity as NBC! One can imagine the process: Hmm, look at these smart, creative, thoughtful, well-written, well-acted shows we've got...hey, let's dump 'em!

I'm sad that NBC has cancelled my 2nd favorite show, but gld CBS would pick it up. But why, oh why, would they put it on Friday night? That's like giving it a death sentence :(

CBS should be giving LIFE the look instead!!! Medium at least had a chance to have more then 2 seasons!!!

Oh and Medium had been getting beaten by ABC Castle.

yes pick it up and put it on Friday, then 3 Rivers wont get that Death spot.
