ABC embraces 'Modern Family' for fall, gives Aisha Tyler a pilot
"Modern Family" has the honor of being ABC's first pilot to get ordered up for the fall.
The ensemble comedy starring Ed O'Neill, Sofia Vergara and Jesse Tyler Ferguson has received a 13-episode order, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The mockumentary follows three different suburban couples -- traditional, gay and multiethnic -- and is from veteran writer-producers Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd.
Also recently announced is the talk show pilot "The Aisha Tyler Show" hosted by the titular comedian herself.
Aimed at a younger audience for syndication or cable, the show will try to combine traditional talk show concepts with produced comedy segments and funny political commentary. The show also intends viewers to be able to reach Tyler through Facebook, Twitter and other wired platforms.

There's two shows I definitely won't be watching. ABC is too gay already, and Tyler isn't funny.
WOW! if this is ABC's highlight of the fall season, then I'll be renting from blockbuster.

Wow, what a novel concept. Don't believe I've ever heard of a network doing this before until this announcement. Wow, I think they're on to something. I guess the other networks had better get on that bandwagon.
ABC is also developing an incest comedy aimed at teens called Keepin' It In the Family. And another reality show called Sh*t Happens!
Wow...that's the best ABC can do huh? "Modern Family" sounds like it may have some controversial issues to it, given the kind of families that live near each other. Didn't ABC try something like this a few years ago called "Welcome to the Neighborhood?" But it was a reality show and deemed untasteful, so it never made it to air.

Hey YO - You are a repressed *sshole.
Modern Family sounds like a show that I would check out. It reminds me of one of my ABC-favorites-but-quickly-cancelled Sons and Daughters. I loved that show.
I've seen Modern Family and it's amazing. Best comedy pilot in years. That's why they picked it up early I guess. Just wait, you'll see....
O'Neill has a cult following but I have to hear more about the show.
