'24' finale: Who is dying?

Kiefersutherland Depending on where you are in the country tonight, you may just be a couple hours away from the big "24" finale, but if you want the early scoop, wait no longer...

Who's dying this evening?

Nobody.

No one we really know or care about, anyway.

I mean, from what I hear, the episode does end on a cliffhanger with Jack's life in danger, but dude, come on, we know J.B.'s going to be just fine.

But just 'cause no one's dying doesn't mean the finale isn't scintillating and filled with some solid surprises... the most notable, in my opinion, being the reveal of Tony Almeida's motives. And, I must say, once you see the whole picture, you may have a hard time picking sides.

Someone who's not having as hard of a time picking sides? Ms. Renee Walker.

She's definitely defected from the FBI to Jack Bauer's world and will do some things tonight that would've seemed quite unlikely when we first met her back in January.

Oh, and I'm hearing Janis Gold (Janeane Garofalo) -- who we'll likely see the last of tonight -- is getting in Renee's way, so yeah, that should be fun to watch.

As for Madame President -- unless something quite drastic happens in the life of Ms. Taylor -- based on her decisions in this finale, I have a strong feeling she'll still be in office when the next season of "24" rolls around...

Yeah I thought it was already well known that Jack, Chloe, President Taylor and Renee were all on board for the next season/day and Janis was not coming back. Or maybe I just read too much TV news all day! : )

Janis and Tony could die possibly but you say people we care about won't die - hopefully fans of 24 were more pro-Janis than con-Janis!

If Tony lives and is incarcerated that means he could come back still in a "Dr. Lector" way where only he can help track down the next day's threat which would be cool. Since Edie didn't come back on DH, I'm hoping the big reveal tonight is that Michelle is alive and being held hostage/brainwashed until Tony completes his double agent mission! PLEASE?

Ha, kellek, one of your hopes? Yes, affirmative. The other? Not so much.

Thanks! Meanwhile I vented about DH on your post about the season finale. Maybe that's why I was so Twitter cranky this morning?

I loved Jack, Chloe, Kim, and Renee this year. Janis was alright. I'm still not sure how I feel about Tony's return even knowing his reasoning.

Just watched it...excellent acting and emotional punch. Cliffhanger? Err not so much. But that is okay with me strong overall season. Cl***ic 24!!!

Loved the show last night..my favourite season so far. It's a long time to wait before the next season though so Keifer better get his act together. He is not Jack Bauer in real life.

What exactly were the terrorists going to do with Jack's harvested organs?

...Chuck his liver into a packed movie theater? (Would it be a violation of the First Amendment to shout, "LIVER" in a crowded theater?)

...Smuggle his kidneys on to a transcontinental flight? ("Enough is enough! I have had it with these mf kidneys on this mf plane!")

I thought it was really lame for a 24 finale. They usually wrap up everything, other than Jack's future. I hate what they've done with Jack's character, sissifying him. Nest year, do we see him holding hands with the terrorists and singing Kumbayah? There's no redemption for Tony; he horrifying suffocated Larry Moss and was responsible for the deaths of FBI agents and a lot of other people. I hate what they've done to his character this year, too.

They usually wrap things up? Really? Season 1 - ends with Jacks wife dead in his arms. Season 2 - ends with President Palmer being poisoned and falling on the ground (presumed dead). Season 3 - well, ok, they did kinda wrap that one up (lol). Season 4 - ends with Jack losing his identity (presumably forever). Season 5 - ends with Jack being kidnapped and hauled off to China without ANYONE's knowledge. Season 6 - ends with Jack having some kind of weird semi-conscience talk with Audrey (AND us never finding out what happened to President Wayne Palmer OR if Former President Logan lived or died from his neck stab from Martha. So, yeah, I'd argue with you that they usually wrap things up. But I personally LOVED this season. I agree that I dont totally like what they did to Tonys character but at least it was plausible. And I dont think they sissyfied Jack at all.....if anything they made him a more believable character and not this laughable super-hero he's been since Season 3.......but hey, thats just my opinion.......
