'Ugly Betty': Henry returns for the finale

Christophergorham2_uglybetty_s2_240 Henry's back, and somehow we don't think Matt's gonna be too happy about that.

"Ugly Betty" will see the return of Betty's erstwhile love Henry, played by Christopher Gorham, for the May 21 two-hour season finale, reports EW's Ausiello.

Here's why Henry's back in the Big Apple: he and his new girlfriend Chloe (Dreama Walker who plays Mean Girl Hazel on "Gossip Girl") are visiting and go on a double date to a Mets game with Betty (America Ferrera) and her boyfriend Matt (Daniel Eric Gold).

Of course, the romantic feelings for dear Betty run deep in the geek veins, so expect a bit of friction between the two men.

Danielericgold As Zap2it's "Ugly Betty" recapper, I'm firmly on Team Matt, her fellow YETI intern. If you recall, Henry strung Betty along, but eventually moved back to Arizona to be with his baby mama Charlie. The end, right? Well, apparently, that didn't last and Betty discovered via Facebook that Henry had moved on to another reddish-blonde girl.

Matt has been pretty darn nice from Day One, calling Betty out on her childish behavior but sticking with her even though his mom (Christine Baranski) didn't approve. Okay, there's the slight issue of his sex addiction, but he's working on that.

Gorham has been playing another Henry on CBS' murder mystery series "Harper's Island," but will dust off his thick-framed glasses for this guest appearance.

"Ugly Betty" returns with new episodes on Thursday, April 30.

UPDATE: On Thursday ABC picked up "Ugly Betty" and its other shows early for next season. It's been an uneven season, but I think I like the direction it's taking with the latest episodes.

Are you excited for Henry's return? Which man are you rooting for?

Henry wanted Betty to move to Arizona with him. Also, Betty had already moved on to by the time Henry changed his facebook status.

They ruined the Henry character. He started out nice and turned into a comlete jerk. That whole storyline was terrible. I wish they'd move on and leave Henry in AZ.

@TJ --

As soon as Henry decided to move back with Charlie, he should have ended it with Betty. It wasn't fair to ask Betty, who hadn't been dating him that long and who had a family and career ahead of her in NY, to leave everything for Henry.

And Betty hadn't moved on entirely when she saw his Facebook status. That's why she was so conflicted about accepting him as a friend. Only when she saw that he moved on was when she decided to actually date Matt.

And Jesse was a rebound fluke!

I adore Christopher Gorham but not exactly feeling Harper's Island (sorry) b/c I am no fan of slasher flicks. Glad he's back.

Forget Henry. I thought that was old business.

WHERE IS GIO?!

They should have paid a few bucks to Freddy Rodriguez to show up instead of bringing back the whole episode 2x06 / 2x10 double date love triangle drama.

Gio was the best for her. Why bring two of the least interesting love interest back to fight each other? Geeky? I know!!! What happened to sexy, ****y, lovable and entertaining?

Bring me back Gio and I'll tell you what's a finale!

Oh I forgot to answer the question:
I am rooting for neither.
Really bad taste (poor tactical decision) from the UB-ABC production team.

I WANT GIO!

I think they need a new idea. It sounds a lot like the season finale last year, which was a disaster. It will be good to see Henry but then he needs to go away with his Charlie clone and raise his child. And Betty needs to realize Matt is not the one and get rid of him. If they really wanted my interest they would have brought back Gio instead of Henry, but I'm not sure either can save the show at this point.

@ Beatrice B

Ya know, I really liked Gio too ... but I think the writers let him fizzle out. I'm always of the mind that if a guy has given up, there's really no point in chasing him.

But they did have some delicious arguments! :D

DOWN WITH HENRY DOWN WITH HENRY

When Henry found out he was going to be a father he decided that he was going to take responsibility for the baby by moving to Az. (HA ! ! a rare thing for a man to do) At that point he should have broken it off with Betty and start making plans for his new life even if he wasn't going to marry the mother of the child. It was not fair of him to ask Betty to hang around.

To me it looks like he really can not commit to anyone. He cheated on Charlie with Betty (never told Betty about Charlie or Charlie about Betty). Then when Charlie comes to N Y to visit her boyfriend he takes up with Charlie again gets her pregnant while seeing Betty on the side. Then he sends a pregnant Charlie home to face family and friends alone. He asks Betty to understand the situation & believe that their love will see them thru. Once the baby is born he does ask Betty to come with him but when she doesn't he doesn't take much time to takes up with yet another girl in Az. This guy doesn't miss a beat. I don't believe that he really loves Betty.

Betty deserves someone who really loves her. She always gives her all to everyone even when it hurts her. She should have someone who will do he same for her.

I agree with commentor, Beatrice B. Gio was the best match for Betty. Neither Henry nor Matt really fit her. I hope this is a final closure for Henry. I have a really hard time seeing Matt and Betty, they just don't fit. Gio was perfect.
