CNN, take a good look at that face: Ashton Kutcher has bested you.
The former "Punk'd" prankster squeaked by CNN early Friday, April 17 in the race to collect 1 million followers on Twitter, CNN sheepishly reported.
Ah, but don't fret, CNN. In this popularity contest, the margin was very narrow -- by only about 30 minutes.
Perhaps if you posted more pics of movie stars in bikinis bent over as Kutcher, aka @aplusk, did, then you'd have won. Perhaps he didn't have to rub it in by popping champagne on a live video stream:
As a consolation, at least the "Dude, Where's My Car Star?" will be donating 10,000 mosquito beds to charity for World Malaria Day for winning. That means we all win, right?

In other Twitter news, Oprah Winfrey herself has joined the ranks of micro-blogging celebs, having announced her intent on her Facebook page Thursday.

In an entirely prescient move, Oprah (that's @oprah to you) will have Kutcher, the "King of Twitter," on her show Friday.
Her first tweet: "HI TWITTERS . THANK YOU FOR A WARM WELCOME. FEELING REALLY 21st CENTURY ."

lol it really is quite amazing how a simple thing like twitter can become so huge. i am guilty of having one as well.
Boy, the "cool" quotient for Twitter is officially over now that Oprah and her merry band of programmed wannabes are "tweeting."
This is why no one cosiders CNN a serious news network anymore.

Geez why don't someone just tell Oprah to have only one size in her closet. It's NOT brain surgery. You only have to diet two weeks to get back in the size you were. It takes 3 mths to get the weight off when you buy the next size up. DUH!!!!!
