'Twilight's' 'New Moon' casts Michael Sheen as Aro

Michael Sheen ("Frost/Nixon," "The Queen") has been added to the "New Moon" cast, reports British paper the Daily Mail. He will play Aro, head of a vampire clan called the Volturi, and co-leader of all the world's vampires, alongside Caius (previously cast Jamie Campbell Bower).

"New Moon," the sequel to "Twilight," centers much more around the character of Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) and his werewolf destiny. As it so happens, Sheen played the werewolf leader Lucian in the vampires vs. werewolves film "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans" so he has experience on both sides of the supernatural fence.

Director Chris Weitz tells the Daily Mail that he "aggressively" pursued Sheen.

Also aggressive is "New Moon's" production schedule, with the movie scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 20.

He looks like a good Aro. I hope he portrays [Aro] well.

Can't wait for New Moon. I hope it's MUCH better than Twilight. At least there's a new director. :)

I think they should take out Bower and put Sheen in as Cauis. Bower looks like a girl. And I am not trying to be funny.

I'm an avid fan of these books, and in my personal opinion he seems more like Caius than Aro. Although Bower will be good i'm sure, i think he'd be a better Marcus.

I'm not disappointed at all he looks like Aro by the way he looks like the way Stephenie describes Aro. Good choice.

I hope he does a good job. I don't know this actor very well, we'll just have to wait and see how he plays Aro.

i think he will be great as Aro and definatly not Caius. if youv seen any of his films ud realise he has such a civilised manner but is at the same time threatening! perfect for aro! definatly looking forward to this Weitz seems to be making some really good choices thus far.

OMG!! HE is gonna be awesome!! He portrayed Lucian in Underworld so well!! I love him! This takes New Moon to a whole new level for me i can not wait!!!

it doesnt matter who will portray as aro and caius as long as they give justice to the role... i cant wait to see the movie!!!! it will be a big success! for sure!

i think thats not a good idea..i would rather choose robert to play as aro since he portrayed edward on the first sequesl which is twilight..
