Mel Gibson's wife Robyn files for divorce

Mel Gibson's wife has lost her "passion" for their marriage of 28 years.

Robyn Gibson filed for divorce from the "Passion of the Christ" director Monday, April 13 in Los Angeles Superior Court, citing "irreconcilable differences," reports TMZ.com

According to the documents found on the gossip site, Robyn Gibson is seeking joint physical and legal custody of their son Tom, 10, their only child who is a minor. She is also seeking attorney fees and spousal support. Sources say the couple did not sign a prenup.

The couple, who had married in June 1980, has a total of seven children besides Tom: daughter Hannah, twins Edward and Christian, William, Louis and Milo.

Rumor has it that the marriage has been under strain since his 2006 arrest for drunk driving.

RadarOnline.com, however, is pointing the finger at a Russian musician named Oksana. She and Gibson were seen embracing and kissing in early March in Costa Rica.

Hard to believe a man who produced such an amazing epic as "P***ion of the Christ" could be pulled into such things as anti-Semitism, drunkeness, adultery, and who knows what else? The movie touched a lot of people. Maybe the man behind the camera needs to re-watch it.

as Mel Gibson and his wife have been married for 28 years, she is equal partner to all of their financial successes/failures or otherwise. she was the one holding down the home and their umteen kids while he was out being a "movie star," and apparently, this partnership was maintained for 28 years. i don't think she has to beg anyone for money, IT'S ALREADY HALF HER'S, duh!

And yes, I agree with those who posted that when you've been married a man since the days when he was not yeat Mel and was just a "Mad Max" and gave birth to that amount of his children - you more than deserve the money that's coming to you.

I hope he's preparing a pre-nup for that new chickee he's boinking.

Robyn is a frickin' saint to have put up with Gibson's antics and hi-jinx for twenty-eight years.His hard drinkin' and fightin' personality has been very widely know in 'The Biz' for many,many years. A friend of mine worked as a lighting grip on BIRD ON A WIRE.There were many stories of Gibson's enlarged ego and his lewd and lascivious sense of humor.A real pig.
How could she stand him and his filthy smoking 'like a diesel engine' ? YUK.

I have no doubt Robyn values her seven children far more than the $450,000,000 she'll get in the Community property provision,since there was no pre-nup.
She probably feels better just getting this stuff off of her back.
As for Gibson,his time has p***ed .Once is looks started to fade he became just another short,dumpy has-been actor with the 'creepy Catholic religion' he designed himself.
Gee, that description sounds kind of familiar mmnnnnn...

Just to be clear,I wasn't vilifying Catholicism ,Roman or otherwise. I referring to the extreme cult-like form of Catholicism that Gibson follows devoutly .
Research it and you will understand what I mean.Very creepy.
