Marilyn Chambers, porn star and actress, found dead
Legendary porn star Marilyn Chambers is dead. She was 56.
Chambers, born Marilyn Ann Briggs, was found dead in her Canyon Country mobile home in Santa Clarita by her daughter McKenna on Sunday, April 12, reports the LA Times.
The cause of death has yet to be determined pending an autopsy.
Chambers' early showbiz career wasn't very successful. She had landed a role in a low-budget film, "Together" but then later became the spokesperson for Ivory Snow detergent, from which she was dropped as soon as her adult film career became known. The porn industry capitalized on this incongruous image, often displaying Ivory Snow boxes in her films. Among her most famous was "Behind the Green Door."

At the end of the day a visiting daughter found her mother dead and that surely was a hard thing to experience, regardless of who she was in life.
I met her in 1985 in Windsor Ontario. She was a very nice woman. What she did for a living did not hurt anyone. We have top managers today that are well respected and that knowledgeably put at risk (and are responsible for the death) of a lot of people. I'm sad for her daughter. Nothing worst than losing your mother, except losing your own child.
