Kelly McGillis' lesbian come-out

Kelly McGillis, known for notable movie roles in the late '80s, is finally coming out of the closet.

The 51-year-old "Top Gun" actress is "done with the man thing" and that the next romantic partner she's seeking is "definitely a woman," she tells SheWired.com.

In the interview with vlogger Jennifer Corday, McGillis details how she struggled with her sexuality because it didn't initially fit in with her religious beliefs and how she had to grow and love "who and what you are."

Most had speculated that McGillis was a lesbian for a while. She even guest starred on Showtime's "The L Word" as a closeted Army colonel.

She is best known for starring opposite Tom Cruise in "Top Gun," with Jodie Foster in "The Accused" and "Witness" with Harrison Ford.

Its a shame that she had to struggle with this for so long. Hopefully now that she can openly acknowledge this she can now live a fulfilled life.

Are we really sure she's a lesbian? it sounds like she's had a lot of bad experiences with men, so now she's going to try women. I'll bet she's just as unhappy with them. She seems like one of those people who's always unhappy, and looking for "who or what is causing her unhappiness".

It's always a shame when someone decides that it is more important to make themselves happy, instead of the Lord. It is amazing how some people have no problem giving up an eternity perfection, for a few years of so called happiness. Hopefully she gets saved before she dies.

Good for her. The only way to be truly happy in the world is to be who you are fully. If everyone truly allowed themselves to be who they were, we would all be happy, therefore, spend much less time worrying about other people, judging them and hating them.
