Jill Scott, Lil John Roberts welcome No. 1 son

Grammy winner, singer and actress Jill Scott can add "mother" to the list.

"The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" star and her fiancee, drummer Lil John Roberts, became the parents of a baby boy on Monday, April 20, reports People.

Jett Hamilton Roberts was born at 4:20 p.m. and weighed 7 lbs., 8 oz.

Scott announced her pregnancy at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles in January. Apparently, she had discovered she was expecting just before leaving for Botswana to film the HBO series "No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency," based on the popular novels by Alexander McCall Smith.

Scott, 37, was previously married to DJ Lyzel Williams, but divorced in 2007. Later, she began dating Roberts, also 37, and announced their engagement at a concert in June 2008.

Roberts lists himself as a "proud parent" on his MySpace page, where friends have been posting their congratulations.
