Jay Leno hospitalized, but doing 'just fine'

Tonightshowwithjayleno_jayleno_240 Jay Leno was admitted to a hospital Thursday (April 23), forcing the cancellation of "The Tonight Show" for at least one day.

KTLA-TV in Los Angeles is reporting that Leno checked himself into a hospital because he was feeling ill. The station says "there had been speculation" that the comedian was suffering from food poisoning, but an NBC spokesperson says she didn't think that was the cause of his illness.

The network rep didn't offer any other details on Leno's condition but added that he's in "good spirits" and, according to KTLA, is spending his time writing jokes.

NBC had been scheduled to air a new "Tonight Show" Thursday but will run a repeat instead.

UPDATE: The network released a statement later Thursday saying Leno is "just fine."

"He was kidding around with the hospital staff and running his monologue jokes by the doctors and the nurses," the statement reads. "He's expected back to work on Monday."

Get better Jay, we'll miss you on thursday!

It must be his 'bacon of the month club' packages of bacon he's eating all in one sitting - finally catching up to him.

Feel better, hopefully everything turns out alright!

Maybe I'll get to see Southland at 10pm next season afterall!

i hope you are okay Jay!love you!

Maybe they can make his crescent shaped head look normal while he is there.

STFU Rick, that is not something to even joke about.

I am glad it is nothing serious and hope he feels good enough to do tomorrows show. I can't wait for The Jay Leno Show to start in the fall.

People actually care that this show is on the air tonight? They could run endless loops of Leno reruns and the sheeple who think Leno is hip or funny would never know the difference.

Yes people care. The Tonight Show with Jay Leno is easily the best late night talkshow, so it's always annoying when it's a re-run. Leno IS funny and earns his spot as the most watched late night host.

Who had time to watch the late night shows anyway? I usually DVR them when someone I like stops by.
